Nightshift

Apple has had a lot of updates lately, and they have mostly been 'under the hood' improvements.

There are two features that are not under the hood.

Nighshift: go to setting, display and brightness, and you can set a warmer tone for the display at night

to supposedly let you sleep better.

Encrypted notes:

You must have 9.3 or newer, and the new OSX to view encrypted notes!!!

Alll you have to do is hit the send to button in the upper right corner, and add a password.

There is only one password for all you notes, for all devices, you can reset the note password,

make a note, and reset it again to get a special password for certain notes, but that is some extra work.

You have to go to Settings:Notes to change the password once it is made.

My Review of the Apple Watch!

I bought one $100 off at Best Buy just before Christmas, and set it up and it spent about an hour downloading all the apps from the phone to the watch with all the contacts and other info.

After playing with it for a while, I decided to update it since it came with 1.something, and the new watch OS was up to 2.something... To install the new OS, the watch has to have over 50% battery, charging on the charger, and close enough for the phone to bluetooth the update to it. Which means you can't do the update while your away at work, because the phone is not close by, and you can't update it when you go to bed, because the watch batter is less than 50% at that point!

Also the update take about 4-6 hours depending on how it goes.

The update failed about 3 times when I decided I would be better off reseting the watch to factory specs (about an hour) and doing the first config, then doing to update. That finally worked!

I got my first test of the watch when I went to Seattle and Portland, the watch was very handy for walking directions and seeing if any messages coming in were important. It also has a heartbeat indicatior, and if you are not close to your phone, it will guess how far you went in your workouts.

I am pretty happy with the Apple Watch, I like being able to see the time, weather and the stock market all in one glance.
